Padman

| MARKETER Padman â€" My Movie Experience I actually have blended reactions when to comes to Padman. It ´s a good topic that's weakly executed. Yes, the film shines in some components however it ´s a critical let-down in many other components. Let ´s begin with the great. The movie touches upon a taboo topic and tries to remove any stigma round it. It ´s a real story and an inspirational one at that. The movie could be watched with family without being awkward. Yes, it has removed the stigma hooked up to pads to some extent. It is a passable one-time watch. What doesn ´t work! I didn ´t think that it was necessary for Akshay Kumar to be cast within the function of Padman. Yes, he's charming in some components, however by some means finally ends up being annoying in most frames. The position doesn ´t require nice performing histrionics and any younger actor might match the bill. Having stated that, it is considerable that Mr.Kumar selected to take up this position with none inhibition s. Surely, his function as Padman will go down as a kind of dangers that he took in his performing career that paid off in the long run. The pairing of Akshay Kumar and Radhika Apte is odd. They seem like father and daughter particularly in the starting wedding scene. Radhika Apte is decent in a role that is the antithesis of her in real life. Sonam Kapoor stands out like a sore thumb with all the incorrect expressions and body language. Be it her introductory Tabla efficiency scene or the overexcited school woman reactions like when she learns of Lakshmi aka Akshay Kumar ´s Padmashri award! It looks like she was forged for one objective alone â€" To play Lakshmi ´s swooning fangirl. Well, she tried very exhausting is all I can say! The romantic track between Akshay Kumar and Sonam Kapoor comes across as awkward and forced. No laughing matter this! Instead, Sonam Kapoor ´s character may have been perfect for highlighting the distinctive issues faced by urban girls around menstruatio n. The similarities and contrasts between the rural and urban divide around menstruation could have been explored in-depth. The more I see biopic movies like Padman, the extra I want that our film-makers adopted the documentary style of movie-making. This type is perfect for serious subjects the place the final word hero of the film isn't a Bollywood actor however the subject per se. Do these subjects sell solely when there may be mainstream actor (ageing nonetheless), young girls as backdrops, a love story triangle and quadrangle and extra cliche track-dance routines? Can ´t Bollywood change the tiresome narrative here please? Padman is not a nasty film. In reality, it's higher than the last movie that I watched Kaalakaandi, a Saif Ali Khan starrer. That movie was like a headless rooster let all loose. There was no coherence and cohesiveness to the script or its narration. Kaalakandi was critically unhealthy. Padman has its saving grace as it has a transparent sense of direction to its plot. R. Balki does his job. Watch the movie for its message! Just don ´t have too many cinematic expectations from it! Alas! Padman falls exhausting by being one more Bollywood cliche despite the novel subject. Rating: ** out of Post navigation 2 comments Great review Tina! It is true.
